TurningArt has the authority and the AI presence of a category leader, but Google sends it almost no buyers: none of its 12 target keywords rank, and its organic traffic comes from people looking up individual artworks.
Messaging needs work
| Criterion | Verdict | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Why beyond what (Sinek) | FAIL | The hero reads “Artwork as a service / For businesses nationwide.” It names the offering; nowhere does it say what a bare or stale workplace costs, or what changes when the art does. |
| Differentiation | FAIL | The core line — “turnkey art programming… from curation to installation” — is how art consultancies across the category describe themselves. The real differentiators (scheduled rotation, 50,000+ works from 2,500+ artists, employee voting) sit below the fold as feature tiles. |
| Customer at centre (StoryBrand) | FAIL | The page opens with client logos, then “Our Mission,” then TurningArt’s own statistics. The buyer’s problem never appears. |
The differentiators are buried
Rotation on a schedule, a 50,000-work catalog, local artists in every market and employee voting on the art are things most art consultancies can’t claim. On the homepage they appear as small feature tiles below the fold, and no page targets the searches a buyer would make for them.
Six segments, one pitch
The business, real estate, healthcare and hospitality pages reuse the same four benefit tiles, the same statistics and the same call to action; only healthcare adds an argument of its own (wellness and evidence-based design).
TurningArt ranks for 0/12 in the top 100 for the analyzed keywords
Organic keywords are centered around artist names. Here we focused on SEO opportunities around unbranded, artist-agnostic traffic.

keywords trigger AI Overviews
TurningArt is missing from the map pack
TurningArt has one Google Business Profile, in Boston. It does not appear in the map pack for any of its local target keywords, including searches that add “Boston.” Map packs: Ahrefs, October 2026.
| Google Business Profile | Location | Reviews | Avg rating | Latest reviews | Claimed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| View profile | 186 Lincoln St Ste 403, Boston, MA 02111 | 20 | 4.6 | Most recent: Jul 2026 (earlier two not captured) | Yes |
| Keyword | Map pack businesses | With “boston” added | TurningArt in map pack |
|---|---|---|---|
| art consultant | Art Consulting Services, Art House 310, Harvester Arts | No map pack shown; TurningArt not in top 10 | No |
| art rental | Art House 310, Wichita CityArts, Mark Arts | No map pack shown; TurningArt #3 organic | No |
| art consulting services | Art Consulting Services, Arts Partners | No data | No |
The map packs on these terms go to small local consultancies and community art centers. A national firm with a single Boston profile won’t win most of them, but it should at least appear in its home city, where it currently doesn’t.
Who owns these searches
Estimated monthly organic clicks across the five highest-volume target keywords (2,100 of 2,840 monthly searches), modeled from Ahrefs SERP positions and a standard click-through curve, October 2026.
| Rank | Domain | Est. Monthly Clicks | SERPs Present | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ikonick.com | 165 | 1 | Print retailer |
| 2 | bigwalldecor.com | 110 | 1 | Print retailer |
| 3 | olivergal.com | 55 | 1 | Print retailer |
| 4 | artconsultingservices.net | 45 | 2 | Art consultancy |
| 5 | artadvisoryservices.com | 42 | 1 | Art advisory firm |
| 6 | artelier.com | 41 | 2 | Corporate art consultant |
| 7 | artadvisors.org | 36 | 2 | Trade association |
| 8 | society6.com | 33 | 1 | Print marketplace |
| 9 | sharegrid.com | 30 | 1 | Prop and studio rental |
| 10 | elephantstock.com | 28 | 1 | Print retailer |
| — | turningart.comYOU | 0 | 0 | Absent |
About half of these clicks go to print retailers ranking for “office artwork.” The service keywords are split among small, local consultancies — no national firm owns them, and TurningArt, the strongest domain in the category, isn’t in any top 10.
Flat traffic

| Page | Page type | Previous period | Current period | Change | % change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| https://www.turningart.com/ | Homepage | 559 | 104 | −455 | −81% |
| Page no longer ranking (URL not reported by Ahrefs) | Unknown | 175 | 0 | −175 | −100% |

| https://www.turningart.com/artist/edward-fielding | Artist page | 24 | 4 | −20 | −83% |
Branded visits to the homepage fell 81% while it still ranks #1 for “turning art,” and the growth came from artwork and artist pages ranking for terms like “batsquatch” and “uktena.”
Domain Rating vs. organic traffic
Each brand has a circle for October 2025 and a triangle for October 2026, joined by a line. Domain Rating runs left to right; organic traffic (log scale) runs up. Ahrefs data for every brand.

Most authority, least return on it
TurningArt’s Domain Rating of 57 is 44 points above the competitor median of 13 and higher than every rival charted here. Yet smaller firms rank for the service keywords TurningArt doesn’t. Authority isn’t the constraint — pages built for buyer searches are.
Two more competitors live in AI, not Google
Kevin Barry Art Advisory and Creative Art Partners don’t rank on Google for these keywords, so they aren’t charted here — but they are TurningArt’s closest rivals in AI answers (Section 09). Artelier’s 74% traffic drop is also worth reading carefully: it starts from a far larger base than its peers.
Technical site health: 73 / 100
The errors are housekeeping: internal links pointing at broken pages and two pages returning 404, both quick fixes. The bigger caveat is coverage — the crawl reached only 26 URLs on a site with hundreds of indexed catalog pages, so these figures likely understate the real error count.
7 of 26 pages have errors
| Category | Pages affected | Share of errors |
|---|---|---|
| Links — pages linking to a broken page | 5 | 71% |
| Internal pages — 404 responses | 2 | 29% |

| Prompt | Visibility | Position |
|---|---|---|
| I am a workplace experience manager at a company with offices in several cities. What are the best companies to run one art program across all our locations? | 90% | 1.3 |
| I am a marketing director at a company that wants to showcase local artists in our headquarters. What are the best services for sourcing local artists for corporate spaces? | 89.29% | 1.4 |
| I am a facilities director at a hospital system. What are the best healthcare art consulting firms for patient and staff spaces? | 86.67% | 2.4 |
| What are the best art consultants and art advisors for corporate art programs for offices, healthcare facilities, and commercial real estate? | 76.67% | 3.9 |
| I am an HR leader at a company working on our return-to-office experience. What are the best rotating art programs to keep our workplace fresh? | 75.86% | 1.3 |
TurningArt leads on workplace, healthcare-system and real-estate prompts. It nearly disappears when the buyer is a hotel, a hospitality or interior design firm, or someone shopping for installation — three of the six segments its site says it serves.
Which domains influence AI
The three sources the engines retrieve most often when answering these prompts.
| Domain | Type | Share of AI answers retrieving it |
|---|---|---|
| turningart.com | Your site | 39.6% |
| creativeartpartners.com | Competitor | 21.2% |
| tkoart.com | Vendor | 18.5% |
TurningArt’s own site is already the engines’ top source, so the fastest opening is on its own pages: content that answers the hospitality, designer and installation questions where it is currently absent. Creative Art Partners is the competitor whose content the engines pull most.

The two halves diverge. On Google, the only video on these keywords speaks to artists, not buyers, so a buyer-facing explainer would face no competition. In AI answers, YouTube barely registers. Video is a Google-only play here, and a lower priority than the pages above.
Reddit barely touches this category
Reddit on Google page one
One Reddit thread reaches page one, on “art consultant.”
| Thread | Keyword | Position | Traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| “Are there art consultants who work with middle class …” — r/artcollecting https://www.reddit.com/r/artcollecting/comments/1m9c09p/are_there_art_consultants_who_work_with_middle/ | art consultant | #7 organic | ~15 est. |
Reddit in AI answers
Reddit is a minor source in AI answers: it ranks around 56th among retrieved domains, appearing in 14 of 697 answers (2.0%).
The one page-one thread is a private collector asking about consultants for home buyers — it doesn’t compete for TurningArt’s business buyers. Reddit isn’t where this category is decided.
Conversion needs improvement
TurningArt captures leads, but only from people ready to talk to sales. Nothing on the site gives a buyer who is still researching a reason to leave an email.
| Element | Status | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| Lead capture | Present | “Get Started” leads to a consultation and quote request — a bottom-of-funnel ask only. |
| Mid-funnel asset | Missing | No assessment, budget calculator or guide. The only soft capture is a newsletter promising “features and releases,” which reads as software boilerplate. |
| Blog CTAs | Present | Posts close with “Speak with an Art Advisor” — present, but again a sales conversation rather than a next step for a reader still comparing options. |
